Located on Toronto’s waterfront in the Port Lands, Tommy Thompson Park is a unique urban wilderness minutes from downtown. The park is located on a man-made peninsula, known as the Leslie Street Spit, which extends approximately five kilometres into Lake Ontario.
May 11, 2013, Toronto, ON – Waterfront Toronto and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA), together with the Governments of Canada, Ontario and the City of Toronto celebrated the official opening of improvements to Tommy Thompson Park today as bird watchers gathered for the park’s annual Spring Bird Festival.
August 23, 2012, Toronto, ON—A newly improved Tommy Thompson Park will play host to the 4th annual Butterfly Festival on Saturday, August 25. Hundreds of people are expected to participate in the annual event to celebrate monarch migration.
