Movie nights in Toronto’s parks are some of the loveliest times of the summer and we know that they draw diverse crowds of people from across the city and even further afield. This summer, Waterfront Toronto has partnered with the Toronto Outdoor Picture Show to present films in Corktown Common and Christie Pits. Our engagement team will have a booth at every event and we’ll be eager to chat with you.
Meeting people where they are – whether at a movie night in a park, a festival, or a public library – is helping us to facilitate more conversations with Torontonians about the work that Waterfront Toronto is doing to revitalize our waterfront, including our major projects like the Port Lands and Quayside.

Christie Pits Film Festival

Christie Pits Film Festival is Toronto Outdoor Picture Show’s signature project. This weekly screening series in Christie Pits Park has been a summertime staple for the local community since 2011, and draws some of the city’s largest and most enthusiastic outdoor movie audiences.
For its eighth season, Christie Pits Film Festival proudly presents Cinematic Cities-themed films including John Waters' Hairspray, Casablanca and In the Mood for Love.

Eats & Treats start at 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Waterfront Toronto's booth will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Films begin at sundown.

Toronto Outdoor Picture Show invites east-side and downtown Torontonians to beautiful Corktown Common Park for a third season of outdoor films, part of the festival’s summer-long Cinematic Cities programme in parks across Toronto. On Thursday evenings in July, the series explores four very different but equally vibrant cities in short and feature films: Toronto, Rome, Berlin, and Selma, Alabama.
Pack your favourite blanket and join us for alfresco movies and an unbeatable view of Toronto's skyline!
Cinematic Cities is co-curated by Emily Reid and Olena Decock, with programming consultation from Felan Parker.
