[AUDIO]: This past year marked a turning point for Toronto’s waterfront — and for our city’s relationship with Lake Ontario.

[AUDIO]: With the corporations’ mandate extended and renewed support from all three levels of government, Waterfront Toronto is moving forward with clarity, confidence and momentum.

[AUDIO]: Together, we launched Toronto’s new island, Ookwemin Minising, and opened Biidaasige Park — the city’s largest new park in a generation. We moved from setting the stage to bringing the next wave to life.
 

[DESCRIPTION:] Kevin continues speaking on camera as the video moves into aerials shots of the CN Tower from Ookwemin Minising, view of the Lake Shore Boulevard and Don Roadway and construction site in the area. The video leans back to Kevin on camera.
 

[AUDIO]: Toronto’s eastern waterfront is no longer a promise on paper; it's a place taking shape in real time, with new parks, new roads, new infrastructure and future neighbourhoods. And this is just the beginning.
 

[DESCRIPTION:] Kevin reappears on screen, followed by a drone shot of the active construction site at Quayside, where construction machinery is at work. In the distance, vehicles travel along Lake Shore Boulevard East. The video then moves indoors to a hall where people interact and view display boards about Ookwemin Minising. It transitions back outdoors to scenes of people cycling, running and paddling along Toronto’s waterfront.
 

[AUDIO]: In the year ahead, we’ll see continued progress delivering new homes at Quayside, deeper planning and engagement for Ookwemin Minising, and steady advancement of waterfront transit and active transportation connections that will make it easier for more people to reach and enjoy the lake.

[AUDIO]: We will remain focused on what has defined Waterfront Toronto from the beginning: community engagement, design excellence, environmental regeneration and partnerships that work.  
 

[DESCRIPTION:] Various people are seen interacting in complete communities, playing and enjoying the public spaces and waterfront views.
 

[AUDIO]: Most importantly, we are building for community: for existing neighbours, for the tens of thousands who will one day call these new neighbourhoods home and for the many people who will come from across the city, the province, and around the world to experience all our waterfront has to offer.
 

[DESCRIPTION:] Kevin reappears on screen to speak about partnership, followed by shots of the three government flags and Indigenous people participating in music and dance. A wheelchair user is then shown approaching Unfinished Arch, a large-scale interactive artwork. The sequence ends with children enjoying story time with adults.

We are grateful for the continued support of the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto, and for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the many Indigenous voices, community members and delivery partners and agencies that bring expertise and care to this work every day.
