Notice of Temporary Overnight Road Closures for Traffic Realignment Works on Eastern Avenue on August 17-18, 2026 

Please be advised that PCL has scheduled a temporary overnight road closure on August 17, 2026, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. August 18, to support traffic realignment work at the entrance to the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) on-ramp at Eastern Avenue. 

A temporary closure of this section of the roadway as well as the northbound on-ramp to the Don Valley Parkway is required to safely complete this work. Conducting the work overnight will help minimize potential traffic impacts during daytime hours. The closure will affect eastbound Eastern Avenue from Cherry Street and eastbound Adelaide Street East from Parliament Street. 

The traffic realignment work at the DVP on-ramp entrance will involve converting the existing entrance into a dedicated right-turn lane and installing temporary traffic control signage and barriers to support the new configuration. A paid duty officer will be temporarily on site following the completion of this realignment to monitor traffic and a traffic control person will be assisting vehicle egress and pedestrian crossing. 

The work to alter the ramp condition from the existing condition to the new right-turn lane will take place during the one-night closure. The altered condition of the ramp that opens on August 18 will be in place until January 2027. This work is a key milestone in the Broadview Eastern Flood Protection Project, which is advancing critical infrastructure improvements such as the construction of a new stormwater management shaft and pumping station in the existing on-ramp location. 

Minimal noise impacts are anticipated, with noise primarily consisting of truck backup alarms associated with the installation of traffic control measures.
