Traffic Notice
Don Roadway South to Open in November
As of mid-November, Don Roadway South will open to pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The newly constructed roadway has been raised to a higher elevation for flood protection and redesigned with dedicated pathways for walking and cycling, providing a new connection to Biidaasige Park. Turn restrictions will be in place at Lake Shore Boulevard East and Don Roadway until the end of 2025.
Traffic restrictions are as follows (see map below for reference):
Going Eastbound:
- Left turns onto the DVP ramp will be restricted
- Right turns onto Don Roadway are permitted
Going Westbound
- Left turns onto Don Roadway will be restricted
- Right turns onto the DVP ramp are permitted
Going Northbound
- Northbound onto the DVP will be permitted
- Left turns on to LSBE westbound is permitted
- Right turns onto LSBE eastbound is permitted
These temporary turn restrictions are in place to support the completion of remaining work on the Lake Shore Bridge and the construction of the median. They are expected to be lifted in December 2025, when the project reaches substantial completion.
All work on Lake Shore Boulevard between Carlaw Avenue and the Lake Shore Bridge is expected to be complete by the end of 2025. Once finished, Lake Shore Boulevard will feature three lanes in each direction, enhanced landscaping, and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
