Construction Notice

Temporary Lane Restrictions and Pathway Shifts on Parliament Street/Queens Quay East for Infrastructure Works

Beginning Monday, August 10 until Friday, August 14, Eastern Construction will carry out infrastructure work along Parliament Street for the installation of a new storm sewer pipe and manhole. This work is required to facilitate the future realignment of Parliament Street and extension of Queens Quay East.

The work area is located within the existing pedestrian and cycling corridor. To maintain safe access during construction, pedestrian and cycling routes will be temporarily shifted around the work zone while remaining separated and clearly signed. To accommodate these temporary pathway adjustments, a portion of the roadway will be occupied, resulting in the temporary closure of one traffic lane. Two lanes of vehicular traffic will remain open at all times, including one eastbound lane and one westbound lane.

Residents and visitors may experience minor dust and noise associated with construction activities. Flagmen will be on site to support pedestrians/cyclist safety and traffic. All activity on site will take place during non-peak traffic hours as designated by the City of Toronto (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) to help minimize impacts to road users and the surrounding community.
