Construction Notice 

Upcoming Construction Activities Starting October 1 

Construction continues on the Broadview Eastern Flood Protection project. As activities progress, Waterfront Toronto and PCL are working closely with the City of Toronto and other active construction projects in the area to coordinate schedules, manage impacts, and minimize disruptions wherever possible. This collaboration includes planning the timing of construction activities and any required lane or road closures to help ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently. 

This notice includes upcoming overnight work on Sunlight Park Road and drilling under the Eastern Avenue Bridge. Please see below for further details. 

Overnight Road Removal and Excavation on Sunlight Park Road from October 6 to November 30 

Beginning October 1, crews will begin road removal and excavation work on Sunlight Park Road during standard construction hours permitted by the City of Toronto (7:00 am to 5:00pm). Between October 6 and November 30, this work will occur off-hours, between 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., to avoid conflicts with adjacent construction activities being carried out by surrounding projects. Nearby residents and businesses may hear noise associated with concrete cutting and breaking, heavy equipment and backup alarms. There are no traffic impacts associated with this work. 

Update on Demolition of the Former BMW Buildings 

Demolition of the former BMW buildings on Sunlight Park Road is well underway and is anticipated to be completed by November 30, 2026. Work will continue Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nearby residents and businesses may hear noise associated with the operation and movement of heavy equipment, including backup alarms. This work has no traffic impacts. 

Excavation and Drilling Under the Eastern Avenue Bridge beginning October 19 

Beginning October 19, crews will undertake excavation and drilling under the Eastern Avenue Bridge on the east side to support utility infrastructure. Activities are anticipated to continue until November 13. To coordinate with other active construction projects in the area, construction will take place overnight, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Nearby residents and businesses may hear noise associated with the operation of medium-sized construction equipment, generators, and backup safety alarms.
