monde condominiums

Monde is leading the way for residential development on Toronto's eastern waterfront.
Monde Condominiums (formerly the Parkside development) located north of Queens Quay, just east of Sherbourne Common, was the first private sector development in East Bayfront. Developed by Great Gulf and designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie.
Monde, with its "Garden in the Sky" design philosophy, is a landmark for the new waterfront neighbourhood of East Bayfront that helps set the standard for design excellence and sustainability. It is also the first residential project by Moshe Safdie in Canada since his landmark Habitat '67 in Montreal.
Great Gulf assembled an esteemed and talented design team for the Monde Condominiums project. Led by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie, the team includes: Les Klein and Sheldon Levitt, Quadrangle Architects Limited; Janet Rosenberg, Janet Rosenberg + Associates; and Anna Simone, Cecconi Simone Inc.
The development, comprised of a point tower and podium, achieves a delicate balance between glass and traditional masonry, punctuated with windows and balconies. It includes ground floor retail, along with gardens.
Monde is expected to result in approximately $200 million private sector investment in East Bayfront.
intelligent community
Monde will be part of Waterfront Toronto's ultra-high speed broadband network.
family friendly
Monde encourages downtown living by designing at least five percent of all units to be three or more bedrooms.
mandatory green building requirements
The development, which features stunning views of Lake Ontario, complies with Waterfront Toronto’s Mandatory Green Building Requirements including LEED Gold certification.
The development includes plant-covered roofs that create green space for residential as well as in the building’s dramatic six-storey atrium. In addition, the design team is exploring two different types of balconies - cantilevered and flush - to give each unit a generous amount of light.
