Waterfront for Everyone: Updating the Marine Use Strategy
To take Toronto’s waterfront to the next level of revitalization, Waterfront Toronto plans to build on the existing connections around the harbour. In collaboration with City of Toronto, Ports Toronto, Toronto and Regional Conservation Authority, we’re updating the Marine Strategy and Implementation Plan for Toronto’s waterfront.
The draft Marine Use Strategy was released over ten years ago. A lot has changed on the waterfront since then. As revitalization progresses, this update will ensure that Toronto’s waterfront maintains a balance of commercial shipping, tour boats, recreational boating and water-based transportation.
Once complete, the final plan will be used to guide the planning and design of shoreline improvements.
How can you get involved?
We’re updating the Marine Use Strategy for Toronto’s waterfront, and we want to know what you think. Join us for a virtual Public Information Centre launching on Monday, October 26 and running through to November 18, 2020.
Do you kayak, canoe or paddle board? Do you take the ferry to the Toronto Islands or use water taxis? Are you a sailor, a rower or have a business that uses water access? Or perhaps you would like to have better access to the water’s edge? Whatever your relationship to the waterfront, we want to hear from you.
This is the second Public Information Centre for the Marine Use Strategy Update and we are eager to learn your feedback before we finalize our report.
We invite you to explore the materials below and complete a survey, letting us know your feedback on the 2020 Marine Use Strategy Draft Report.
Learn about the contents of the Draft Report by exploring these materials:
- Public Information Centre #2 Pre-recorded Video Presentation (approx. 50 minutes)
