Live on the Waterfront

Would you like to live in one of our vibrant, innovative, sustainable waterfront communities?

Toronto’s spectacular waterfront transformation will eventually be home to 80,000 residents. It will become a connected series of natural blue vistas, green spaces and communities that achieve a remarkable balance between architecture and nature.


Mixed-use neighbourhoods


At the heart of our plans to reconnect people with the waterfront are liveable mixed-use neighbourhoods inspired by their unique locations. These beautiful new waterfront neighbourhoods will include housing options to welcome individuals and families of all income levels and stages of life. Child-care centres, schools and local amenities are carefully integrated into these neighbourhoods, allowing people of all ages to call the water’s edge their home.


Each new waterfront community will give priority to pedestrians, cyclists and transit, reducing the need for private vehicles. Waterfront Toronto employs a transit-first approach, which means public transit will always be within five minutes of where people live and work. In addition, we’re developing bike paths and pedestrian links between waterfront neighbourhoods and the rest of the city.

The first opportunity to live on the waterfront is in the West Don Lands. Loft-styled condos and townhomes are available for purchase in the River City development. River City is the first LEED Gold carbon-neutral residential development in Canada and the winner of the 2010 BILD Best Building Design Award. www.rivercitytoronto.com


​Also in the West Don Lands, the Canary District condominiums feature 805 units of market condominiums and townhomes that will bring a unique urban modernism to the West Don Lands.
