Waterfront Toronto set to replace trees along Queens Quay West this fall

Following a comprehensive review by Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto’s Urban Forestry division, 154 trees that failed to thrive have been identified for replacement along Queens Quay West between Bay Street and Yo Yo Ma Lane. Replanting will take place from October 22 to November 16.

Winning Designs Announced for Waterfront Parks Design Competition

Waterfront Toronto, in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division, today announced the winning design submissions for the York Street Park and Rees Street Park design competition. Love Park by Claude Cormier et Associés has been selected for York Street Park, and Rees Ridge by wHY Architecture and Brook Mcllroy has been selected for Rees Street Park. The goal of the design competition was to solicit bold plans for the two parks from leading international design firms that would integrate with the existing vibrant public spaces along Toronto’s waterfront.

In April, 2018, Waterfront Toronto assembled Canada’s leading experts on digital technology, privacy and governance. Waterfront Toronto’s Digital Strategy Advisory Panel’s (DSAP) mandate is to help guide the Corporation on how best to incorporate data privacy, digital systems, and the safe and ethical use of new technologies in the next phase of waterfront revitalization, most specifically at Quayside.
