Ross McGregor, Director
Appointed by the province of Ontario in March 2004
Mr. McGregor was the President of Ketchum Canada Inc. from its inception in 1985 and served as Chair & CEO from 1991 until he sold the firm to the Allied Irish Bank in 2003. Under his leadership, Ketchum evolved into one of the largest and most respected fundraising consultancies in the world in its management of major capital campaigns for education, healthcare, cultural, and other charitable and institutional causes in Canada and beyond.
Upon leaving Ketchum, Mr McGregor served as the founding President and CEO of the Toronto Region Research Alliance (TRRA) from 2005 to 2007. Together with Co-Chairs Gord Nixon and Dr. John Evans, they established TRRA as a moving force in capacity building and investment attraction in the region and beyond.
A litigation lawyer who practised in Ottawa and Toronto for 10 years before becoming involved in public affairs and capital fundraising, Mr. McGregor has been engaged in a wide range of professional and community activities throughout his career. He is presently the Co-Chair of the Governor General’s Advisory Committee on Philanthropy and Voluntarism and he is a founding director of the new Rideau Hall Foundation. He is also a strategic advisor to the President of the University of Waterloo and he is a director of the Tides Canada Foundation.
