Janet Rieksts-Alderman, Director
Appointed by the government of Canada in December 2016.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman is a Partner with Examine Consultants Canada, where she leads the Capital Project and Infrastructure Risk, Governance and Internal Audit Practice. She specializes how organizations should set up for project success and Governance of large scale Capital Programs.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman’s work in Capital Projects and Infrastructure has involved engagements in Canada, United States, Mexico, South American, Central America, India, United Kingdom and Australia.
Industries include Ports, Government (Federal, Provincial and Municipal), Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Pension Funds, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Mining, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, Utilities, Forestry, Construction and Shipbuilding.
Prior to joining Examine, Ms. Rieksts-Alderman was a Vice President with Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ Global Capital Project and Infrastructure practice where she led the Capital Project and Infrastructure team for the Risk and Internal Audit practice.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman was a key contributor to Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ thought leadership and risk methodology in Capital Projects specifically in the Board’s Role in Capital Project Governance.
She is a frequent presenter on Capital Project Risk and Governance at Industry events and within International organizations with interests in large scale projects. She has also been a speaker at Women In Leadership forums.
In addition to Waterfront Toronto, Ms. Rieksts-Alderman is a Board Member for the Childhood Cancer Foundation, past Board Member for Atlantica Centre for Energy and a Governor General Leadership Alumni.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant. Holds a Master of Business Administration as well as a Certification in Control Self-Assessment from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
