The revitalization of Toronto's waterfront is a 25 to 30 year project, and Waterfront Toronto is implementing development in a phased approach to ensure the success of each individual project.

Since 2004, Waterfront Toronto has opened 17 new or improved parks or public spaces including:

Already  waterfront revitalization  has contributed greatly to the development of public space in the waterfront area. This includes the completion of:

  • 4.3 kilometers of waterfront linear park space
  • 16.4 hectares of new parks and public realm
  • 2,876 linear meters of dedicated bike lanes thorugh the expansion of the Martin Goodman Trail
the waterfront's first new building

The first completed new building on the waterfront is Corus Quay, the new Canadian headquarters for Corus Entertainment, a leading integrated media and entertainment company.

The 46,500 square metre (500,000 square foot) office and broadcast centre, located at the water’s edge in East Bayfront, opened in September 2010.
